Fable Christchurch

Staff were lovely, went above and beyond for our wee staycation. We had such a lovely stay! The staff truly went above and beyond to make our little staycation special. From the moment we arrived, we felt so well looked after. The lady at reception was so welcoming—she not only talked me through the concierge service (which was new to us) but also surprised us by delivering a wee gift to our room for my daughter, which was such a thoughtful touch. It was my daughter’s birthday, and almost every staff member noticed her badge and made the effort to wish her a happy birthday…even the lovely cleaning staff, which really made her day! There were so many small, thoughtful gestures that we didn’t expect, but they made a big difference. The whole team, from front desk to housekeeping, was genuinely kind and attentive.

Firstly, there was no light in our tea and coffee making station. There was no technician to fix it. We are elderly and found there was not enough light to read any instructions to operate the Nespresso machine in such a tight space. Secondly the lift situation is a concern. Is there not a separate lift for maintenance staff? After waiting for 25min for a lift(we were on level 7 )in the morning, we decided to take the stairs. My husband slipped and we had to ask for a wheel chair as he could not walk. It made our morning difficult coupled with the anxiety of impending surgery.He is not able to stand outside the lift for long periods, he is in mid 80”s.He was scheduled for surgery at 12, the reason why we stayed the night in the City. We went to the new Court theatre the night before, which was wonderful, your hotel chosen because of the close proximity to this venue so we could walk.

Great location, comfortable but slightly small rooms. Coffee machine a nice touch. Front desk team were very welcoming and responsive to requests.

My room was a comforting place to come back to after a long day out and about. I really appreciated the bed being made each day even though I was there several days.

The location was excellent as I was at a conference at Te Pae. It was also very close to places to eat. My room was upgraded to a King Bed room and it was on a corner with two windows - with fabulous views (I kept taking pictures and sending them to my family). The room was spacious and light, really comfortable, immaculate and spotless, with everything I needed including a dressing gown and Nespresso coffee machine and fridge. The shower was great and good to have a bath if I had wanted one. The staff were really friendly - everyone I came across smiled and said hello. Check in/out was super easy. I just loved staying here. It was perfect!!
